TUCSON, AZ - A pregnant woman suffered life threatening injuries after being involved in a crash in Tucson Friday.
Authorities said the three-vehicle crash happened around 3:10 p.m. on Nogales Highway and Lumber Road.
San Xavier District deputies said a northbound pickup truck veered into the southbound lane after colliding with a northbound vehicle turning left on Lumber Road.
The truck then collided head-on with a southbound passenger car.
Deputies said the passenger car was being driven by a 27-year-old pregnant woman. Officials said she was extricated from the vehicle and flown to the hospital in serious condition. The baby was pronounced deceased upon arrival at the hospital.
Authorities said the pickup driver was not injured.
Deputies said speed and impairment do not appear to be a factor at this time.
