Pedestrian dies after train hits him in Tucson

TUCSON, AZ - A pedestrian has died after he was hit by a train in northwest Tucson.

The Arizona Daily Star reports that the 34-year-old was struck by the northbound train north of West Ruthrauff Road around 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Northwest Fire District spokesman Capt. Adam Goldberg says the man was wearing headphones, and whether that is a factor in the incident is under investigation.

The train stopped between Ruthrauff and West Sunset roads.

The man's identity was not released.
