TUCSON, AZ - Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords will be in the courtroom Thursday morning when Jared Loughner is sentenced, according to ABC News .
Giffords' husband Mark Kelly will also be in attendance and is expected to give a statement for the couple, ABC News said.
This will be the first time Giffords has come face-to-face with the Tucson gunman.
Loughner pleaded guilty in early August to 19 counts under a plea agreement that guarantees he will spend the rest of his life in prison and makes him ineligible for parole.
Six people were killed and Giffords and 12 others were wounded in the January 2011 attack.
Giffords stepped down from the House in January 2012.
Loughner's plea was welcomed by some victims who saw the agreement as a way to avoid a lengthy trial.
The sentencing is set for 10 a.m. in Tucson.
