Inmate escapes custody on work duty in Tucson

The Pima County Sheriff’s Office is searching for an inmate who escaped custody while on a work crew Saturday.

49-year-old Cathleen Stein was working at the Pima Animal Care Center in Tucson when it was discovered that she had disappeared.

Stein was in custody at the time for a probation violation and was scheduled to be released around the middle of June.

Stein is approximately 5'8" tall and weighs 125 pounds. She was last seen wearing a red Pima County Jail uniform.
