TUCSON, AZ - An Arizona couple has pleaded not guilty to charges that they imprisoned the woman's three daughters inside their Tucson home.
Pima County prosecutors say the couple entered their pleas Friday in a brief video-court hearing.
A judge assigned court-appointed attorney for the couple, whose next scheduled court appearance is Jan. 14.
The pair were indicted on charges of kidnapping and child abuse.
They're accused of keeping the three girls locked in their rooms during a three-month period ending on Nov. 26. That's when police discovered the girls' alleged captivity.
Tucson police say the siblings are ages 12, 13 and 17.
The girls' stepfather is charged with aggravated assault on two of the girls and assaulting a corrections officer in jail.
