$1 million worth of pot seized by Border Patrol agents in southern Arizona

TUCSON, AZ - Border Patrol agents seized more than 1,900 pounds of marijuana worth about $1 million from a stolen vehicle near Sil Nakya in southern Arizona Thursday.

According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, agents from the Tucson Border Patrol Station responded to a citizen’s report of a suspicious vehicle in the desert. When agents arrived they encountered an abandoned GMC Yukon containing 91 bundles of marijuana.

A record check of the vehicle identified that the Yukon was reported stolen in Glendale, Ariz.

The drugs and vehicle were seized in accordance with Tucson Sector guidelines.
