Forest officials said Friday that higher than normal levels of E. coli were found in water samples from Butcher Jones Beach, which is located in the Tonto National Forest.

"Swim at your own risk" signs have been posted at the beach.

The presence of E. coli indicates fecal matter has been discovered in the water, which can cause people to become sick.
