Sun Lakes man accused of molesting 2 young children

SUN LAKES, AZ - A man from Sun Lakes has been arrested on suspicion of child molestation after he allegedly inappropriately touched two young children.

According to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, 76-year-old George Rodriguez was booked into jail on four counts of molestation of a child.

During the investigation, sheriff’s detectives learned the children would play a game with Rodriguez in which they’d receive a piggy back ride ending with the children on a bed with their pants pulled down.

Authorities say Rodriguez would then allegedly remove the children’s pants and underwear and kiss their stomach and genitals.

Rodriguez reportedly denied touching the children during a phone call with another relative, but admitted to sheriff’s detectives that he pulled the children’s pants and underwear down and kissed them on the stomach and buttocks.

He also admitted that he may have accidentally touched the children’s genitals on a number of occasions, but did not remember if it was with his face or mouth, MCSO reports.

Rodriguez remains in custody on no bond.
