Authorities are investigating after two people died in a crash Tuesday night.
A release from the Pinal County Sheriff's Office said an SUV and a pickup truck were both driving north on Amarillo Valley Road near the town of Maricopa when they bumped into each other.
The contact caused the SUV to veer off of the road and into a drainage canal, ejecting the driver and a passenger. Both were pronounced dead at the scene when law enforcement arrived.
The driver of the pickup was not injured. Pinal County said investigators were still working to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
No other information was immediately available.
