PCSO: Arizona woman attacks purse snatcher (VIDEO)

CATALINA FOOTHILLS, AZ - A 64-year-old woman took matters into her own hands when a man tried to rob her purse at an Arizona restaurant.

Pima County Sheriff's Department officials said the incident happened January 1 at a Subway restaurant in the Catalina Foothills, just north of Tucson.

Deputies said around 12:30 p.m, they got a call reporting a strong armed robbery at the restaurant.

When deputies arrived, the woman told them she was leaving the restaurant when a man tried to steal her purse.

Authorities said the victim grabbed the suspect by the hood of his sweatshirt and tried to wrestle her purse back.

A scuffle ensued and the suspect was able to get away with the victim's purse.

Deputies said the woman was able to recover her wallet and purse with nothing missing.

She suffered minor injuries to her left arm and shoulder during the scuffle.

The suspect is described as a white male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and black shoes.

Authorities said he was driving a faded green Honda Civic with tinted windows.
