Maricopa County Sheriff's Office is investigating a deputy-involved shooting in Tonopah.

The incident occurred early Wednesday morning at a home near 339th Avenue and Buckeye Road. MCSO says deputies were called out by an anonymous woman reporting a homicide. However, no woman or homicide scene was located.

Instead, deputies were met by an armed man who confronted them. Deputies then used lethal force on the man, injuring him.

The suspect fled inside the home and barricaded himself inside. SWAT teams were eventually able to get the man into custody. He was taken to a hospital with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

MCSO says no deputies were injured in the shooting.

Officials are still working to determine why deputies were called out to the home in the first place.

It's unclear at this time whether the suspect lived at the home. No one else was located on the property during the incident.
