QUARTZSITE, AZ - A 17-mile stretch of I-10 is back open Thursday night after being shut down for hours so Department of Public Safety officials could investigate a "suspicious device."
Officials say the westbound lanes were closed just east of Quartzsite starting around 6:30 p.m.
Authorities say a DPS officer came in contact with a tractor-trailer driver who claimed there were explosives in his truck.
DPS officers called in the bomb squad to investigate.
After getting an "all-clear" from investigators, the road was reopened around 8:30 p.m.
There is no word at this time if the truck driver is facing any charges.
