I-10 crash west of Tonopah: 1 hurt after semi truck catches fire, says DPS

TONOPAH, AZ - Authorities say a person was injured in a crash Monday morning west of the Valley that ended with a semi truck catching fire.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety said the collision occurred around 6 a.m. with a motor home on eastbound Interstate 10 at milepost 71, near the Maricopa-La Paz county line.

Air15 video showed the cab of the truck completely burned and in the median.

DPS said the motor home was wedged underneath the cab of the semi truck, and the rest of it was scattered in the desert nearby.

The person hurt in the crash is believed to be the driver of the motor home. The person was airlifted to a nearby hospital.

The driver's condition was unclear, according to DPS.

The cause of the crash is unknown at this time.
