Firefighters are working to contain their second brush fire of the day that has ignited in roughly the same area north of the Valley.

Sunday morning firefighters from the Bureau of Land Management responded to an area near Interstate 17 and Table Mesa Road.

Officials said the fire was contained to a little more than an acre in size.

That afternoon, crews responded to the same general area for another wildfire. A Daisy Mountain Fire Department spokesperson said the second fire, named the Easter Fire, was estimated to be about 10 acres and was burning west of I-17 and Table Mesa Road.

Officials urged the public to be responsible in the desert, though there was no immediate word as to how the fires started, and whether they were connected.
