CBP: Two men arrested for smuggling 21 pounds of heroin into U.S.

NACO, AZ - Two men were arrested Friday after they attempted to smuggle almost $300,000 worth of heroin into the United States through a port of entry at Naco, Ariz., according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials.

The men, both 25 years old, were Mexican nationals, CBP says.

The suspects were driving a Nissan sedan with 11 packages of heroin, totaling 21 pounds, between the vehicle’s front seats, officials say.

Both men were sent to Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations unit for further review, CBP says.
