Arizona Walmart evacuated: 'Suspicious package' forced a San Tan Valley Walmart to be evacuated

SAN TAN VALLEY, AZ - A Walmart in San Tan Valley was evacuated after a 'suspicious package' was discovered near the entrance.

The Pinal County Sheriff's Office received a phone call regarding a 'suspicious' 5 gallon bucket placed by the entrance of a Walmart near Hunt and Gary in San Tan Valley, said Tim Gaffney, Pinal County Sheriff's Office.

The caller said that the bucket was located between two cars in the parking lot which was located near the west entrance of the store, Gaffney said.

The Pinal County Sheriff's Office called the Department of Public Safety and asked to send in their bomb and K-9 units.

About 4 p.m. Gaffney told ABC15 the bucket was determined to contain only paint and the store was back open.
