ADOT: RV catches on fire, closes I-17 northbound near Cordes Junction

CORDES JUNCTION, AZ - A motor home that caught on fire has closed down Interstate 17 northbound north of the Valley, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

The burning RV caused a brush fire about 5 miles north of Cordes Junction around 11 a.m., according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.  

The closure is at milepost 268. 

Air15 video showed the burned out RV along the side of the highway with fire crews working to make sure the brush fire was completely out.

Around 1:30 p.m. ADOT said the traffic backup behind the incident had cleared. Crews were still working to clean up the fire scene.
