Soldier Basin Fire: Crews have contained 5 percent of human-caused fire

NOGALES, AZ - A wildfire has burned approximately 3 square miles of grass and brush on ridges of the Coronado National Forest about a dozen miles from Nogales in rural Santa Cruz County in southern Arizona.

The Soldier Basin fire is approximately five miles east of the Nogales airport, which is seven miles northeast of the southern Arizona city.

The Forest Service says the human-caused fire is not threatening any structures.

It started late Friday night and is being fought by approximately 200 firefighters who are building fire lines to stop the fire's spread.

Containment was put at 5 percent as of late Sunday.
