NOGALES, AZ - A Mexican man was arrested Wednesday in Nogales, Ariz., after trying to smuggle almost 393 pounds of marijuana into the U.S., according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials.
The pot was worth approximately $196,400, officials say.
The 55-year-old man from Nogales, Sonora, Mexico, was caught after officials investigated the tractor-trailer he was using to smuggle the drugs. Officials found 22 bundles of marijuana in a shipment of aircraft parts, CBP says.
The man was turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations unit, according to CBP.
