NOGALES, AZ - Customs and Border Protection officers arrested three women and seized almost $134,000 in cocaine on Tuesday after they attempted to smuggle the drugs through the Port of Nogales.
Officers stopped a Chevrolet SUV at the Dennis DeConcini crossing after a narcotics canine gave a positive alert for drugs inside their car, according to Customs and Border Protection.
The three women, one Mexican resident and two U.S. residents, were all questioned and searched. Officers found and seized almost 13 pounds of cocaine that was found on the three women, according to a release.
The women were referred to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigation.
