PCSO: 2-year-old boy dies after falling in family's pool in Florence

FLORENCE, AZ - A 2-year-old boy has died after falling in his family's pool Monday according to the Pinal County Sheriff's Office.

PCSO spokesman Sgt. Pat Ramirez said crews were called to a home near Hunt Highway and Arizona Farms Road near Florence.

Ramirez said the family was unpacking the the car when they lost site of the child.

The mother found the child in the backyard at the bottom of the pool, he said. She then gave "effective CPR" while paramedics were called.

The child was taken to Maricopa Medical Center where he later died.

According to the family, there will be a Celebration of Life Service at Mountain View Family Church in Queen Creek on Saturday, Aug. 23 at 5:00 p.m.
