FLORENCE, AZ - A Mexican man arrested for reckless driving in Arizona told authorities he has been deported 10 times already.
Pinal County Sheriff's officials say 27-year-old Alejandro Castillo-Padilla also is being held for felony flight.
He was taken into custody last Friday after a sheriff's deputy spotted a vehicle speeding and weaving in and out of traffic on Interstate 10 near Casa Grande.
A chase ensued and authorities say Castillo-Padilla ran several stop signs at speeds near 90 mph.
He finally stopped the vehicle, fled on foot and jumped into a canal before being arrested.
Castillo-Padilla told authorities that he didn't want to go back to prison and was on probation from his numerous deportations.
U.S. Border Patrol say he was last deported in June after spending 15 months in prison.
