Phoenix Mart could bring thousands of jobs to Arizona

CASA GRANDE, AZ - Thousands of jobs could be coming to Arizona with the construction of Phoenix Mart , a 1.5 million square foot commercial complex designed to promote small and mid-sized manufacturers' products.

The City of Casa Grande officially announced the Phoenix Mart project during a press conference Wednesday morning at the City of Casa Grande Council Chambers.

According to city officials, the international commerce center, which will be used to promote products directly to consumers, businesses, and international buyers is expected to create more than 7,000 direct and indirect jobs within the state.

Phoenix Mart's website refers to the project as "the first multi-industry permanent sourcing and distribution center in the United States….With nearly 2,000 product suppliers from around the globe under one roof."

Developers refer to the project as America's only one-stop shop for sourcing professionals handling six product areas: automotive, food and beverage, home and hotel, youth, women's, and men's.

"It will become America's marquee sourcing hub where hundreds of thousands of global procurement and sourcing professionals, as well as retail buyers, will be able to find and purchase quality and innovative products produced by the nation's best and brightest," he website claims.

The modern commerce center will include a distribution center as well as hotels, business complexes, restaurants, and educational and medical facilities.

Construction, according to the Phoenix Mart website, is expected to be completed by September 2012.
