CASA GRANDE, AZ - Authorities say they arrested a 20-year-old Casa Grande man as he tried to flush marijuana down a toilet.
According to the Pinal County Sheriff's Office, members of the county's Narcotics Task force, along with deputies and K-9 handlers, took Christopher Cruz into custody while serving a search warrant at a home in the 1200 block of North Center Avenue on Tuesday.
When deputies got into the home, Cruz was found in the bathroom in the process of trying to flush a large quantity of marijuana down the toilet, according to PCSO.
He was taken into custody without incident.
Detectives also found approximately four pounds of marijuana in the bathroom, along with two shotguns and a handgun in the residence.
Cruz was booked into the Pinal County Jail for possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana for sale, misconduct involving weapons, destruction of evidence and two counts of endangerment because there were two young children in the residence.
PCSO says Cruz has a prior felony conviction related to criminal damage.
He is currently being held without bond.
