State Route 87 reopened south of Chandler after rollover

PHOENIX - State Route 87 has reopened after a dump truck rollover on Friday morning.

According to ADOT, the closure is north of Sacaton and 10 miles south of Chandler. Both directions of SR 87 are closed. Drivers are advised to use Interstate 10 as an alternate route.

The Department of Public Safety says the collision involved two vehicles and injuries were reported to be minor.

According to DPS, the dump truck was traveling northeast along SR 87 when a pickup truck failed to yield from the stop sign at Sacaton Road.

The vehicles collided and the dump truck rolled onto its side, blocking both lanes of SR 87.

The female passenger in the pickup truck was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and the driver was cited for failure to yield at an intersection.

The collision occurred just after 10 a.m.
