A cell phone used as evidence in an organized retail theft case led Casa Grande Police to an even larger case involving child porn.

Alejandro Quintanar, 26, was indicted on 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor after police discovered more than 50 videos and images depicting child porn on his cell phone.

In early September, Quintanar was identified as a primary suspect in a series of thefts from Walmart and Target in Casa Grande. He was not booked into jail at the time due to a reported medical issue, but his phone was seized as evidence in the theft investigation.

As Casa Grande Police and Pinal County Attorney's Office continued investigating, more than 50 videos and images of child porn were discovered, leading to his Sept. 24 arrest at his home on charges including trafficking of stolen property, organized retail theft and sexual exploitation of a minor.

He was indicted on 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor on Sept. 30.
