CASA GRANDE, AZ - Drivers across Arizona dealt with high winds, dust and low visibility as they took to the roadways across the state Friday.
ABC15 crews rode along with officers as they patrolled the area near Interstate 10 in Casa Grande for dangerous situations.
Our cameras were rolling as Arizona Highway Patrol Capt. Brian Preston stepped into traffic to slow drivers approaching a blind spot.
Although most drivers spotted Preston waving his yellow vest, one driver did not. You can see in the video that the car almost hits the officer.
This was the exact spot where a dust storm caused three fatalities in a nineteen-car pileup October 29 of this year.
It's a dangerous reminder to drivers who are suddenly caught in a dust storm to slow down and pay close attention to what's ahead.
