When militants seize control of the U.S. embassy in Tehran during the height of the Iranian Revolution, CIA agent Tony Mendez (Ben Affleck) creates a fake Hollywood film production in order to rescue a group of American diplomats. Warner Bros. Ent.
Mendez infiltrates the country and meets up with the Canadian ambassador (Victor Garber) and the hostages who have taken refuge at his home. Warner Bros. Ent.

At the last minute, Mendez is told that the operation has been cancelled, but he pushes forward, forcing his supervisor (Bryan Cranston) to hastily re-obtain authorization for the mission to get tickets on a Swissair flight. Warner Bros. Ent.
Tension rises at the airport, where the escapees' flight reservations are confirmed at the last minute, and a guard's call to the supposed studio in Hollywood is answered at the last second. Warner Bros. Ent.

Hushpuppy and Wink wait out a storm. As they try to rebuild with others, the salt water left behind starts to kill everything. Wink damages part of the levee and the water recedes. Rescue workers sweep in and take everyone to safety. Fox Searchlight
Wink undergoes surgery at the rescue shelter, but his health doesn't return, and at the first possible chance, the evacuees escape back to their homes. Fox Searchlight

Set two years before the Civil War, a former slave named Django (Foxx) and German bounty hunter Dr. King Schultz (Waltz) become unlikely allies in the battle against tyrannical plantation owner Calvin Candie (DiCaprio). The Weinstein Company
Schultz is hunting fugitives when he needs Django's help identifying two wanted brothers. They go into business together for a winter, after which Schultz agrees to help Django rescue his wife, Broomhilda (Kerry Washington). The Weinstein Company
Schultz and Django pose as men interested in buying a slave for gladiator-like competitions that Candie deals in, visiting the plantation where Broomhilda is being held. The Weinstein Company
But just as the pair finds Broomhilda and plot a daring escape, Candie's house slave Stephen (Samuel L. Jackson) learns of their plan and alerts Candie. The Weinstein Company
Schultz shoots Candie, and while Django puts up a fight, he eventually surrenders when Candie's men threaten to kill his wife. He's nearly shipped off to a coal mine, but escapes & returns to the plantation to exact revenge. The Weinstein Company
Django kills Candie's men and sister as they return from Candie's funeral, shooting Stephen in the knees and blowing up the home, riding off victorious with Broomhilda. The Weinstein Company

In 1815, convict Jean Valjean (Jackman) is released on parole by prison guard Javert (Crowe). A bishop offers Valjean shelter, but he steals his silver. The bishop tells police he gave Valjean the silver. He tells him to accept God. Universal Pictures
8 years pass. Valjean broke parole but became an honest man. When it turns out one of his workers, Fantine, (Hathaway) has a daughter out of wedlock, she is dismissed. Valjean later finds her near death, working as a prostitute. Universal Pictures
Valjean learns a man believed to be him is about to be condemned. He reveals his identity, saving the man, sits with Fantine as she dies and promises to take care of her daughter, Cosette (Seyfried), barely escaping Javert's wrath. Universal Pictures
Valjean finds young Cosette, pays off the corrupt innkeepers she has been living with (Bonham Carter, Baron Cohen) and again narrowly escapes Javert with the child. Universal Pictures
9 years later, revolutionaries are plotting in Paris. Young leader Marius (Redmayne) spots a grown Cosette and falls in love. Éponine (Barks), leads him to her. It turns out Éponine was raised with Cosette as a girl. Universal Pictures
The revolt begins, Valjean and Cosette flee the city. Éponine saves Marius. Javert poses as a rebel, but is exposed and held. When Valjean intercepts a letter from Marius, he goes to the barricades to protect him. Universal Pictures
Valjean confronts Javert, pretending to execute him but letting him go free. The army overtakes the rebels and everyone is killed except for Marius, who is saved by Valjean. Javert confronts Valjean again. Javert commits suicide. Universal Pictures
Marius and Cosette decide to marry. Valjean reveals his past to Marius and tells him he must leave. On the wedding day, Marius discovers Valjean was the one who saved him, so he and Cosette go the convent where Valjean is dying. Universal Pictures
Valjean confesses his life to Cosette and perceives the spirit of Fantine appearing to take him to Heaven. The movie ends in a rousing musical number at the barricades. Universal Pictures

Pi Patel (Sharma) tells a fantastical tale of traveling on a freighter with his parents and the family's zoo animals when he was 16. A storm takes out the ship and Pi is left in a lifeboat alone with some of the animals. Twentieth Century Fox
Eventually, Pi and a tiger named Richard Parker are left. They live on separate rafts before learning to trust and fend for each other. Twentieth Century Fox
After 227 days at sea, the lifeboat reaches the coast of Mexico. Parker stops at the edge of the jungle. Pi expects that the tiger will turn toward him and acknowledge him, but he looks into the jungle for a while and goes in. Twentieth Century Fox
Pi is rescued, and at the hospital, insurance agents for the freighter come to hear his account. They don't believe the story, so he makes up another, parallel tale about being on the lifeboat with a wounded cook and his mother. Twentieth Century Fox
At the end, the tale's author asks the audience to pick the story they prefer. A copy of the insurance report shows the agents chose Pi's original, fantastical tale. Twentieth Century Fox

Tiffany offers to help Pat reconnect with his wife, but only if he acts as her partner in a local dance competition. Things go well until Pat Sr. loses his life savings betting on an Eagles game. The Weinstein Company
