NOGALES, MEXICO - The U.S. State Department has issued a warning to travelers planning to visit Sonora, Mexico citing a "credible threat."
The agency posted the following message onto it's social media profiles on May 24.
The following is an Emergency Message from the US Consulate General Nogales:— U.S. ConGen Nogales (@USCGNogales) May 25, 2014
"Due to credible threat information the consulate urges U.S. citizens to take highest precautions regarding personal safety in/around Nogales," was posted to the Consulate's Facebook page.
The Consulate encouraged travelers to look for updates on Facebook and Twitter.
