Long hours at work could really be harmful to your health, according to a new study.
Researchers at the Northwestern University found that spending the entire day sitting could lead to disability later in life. Daily activities likes bathing, getting out of bed and walking could become more difficult if you spent most of your career sitting at a desk.
Research has also found sitting for too long has been linked to heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes and even premature death.
Dr. Brij Bhambi, a cardiologist at Bakersfield Heart Hospital, recommends standing rather than sitting while taking phone calls at work and getting enough exercise.
"It's easy to say you don't have time for exercise but if you don't have time for exercise, you don't have time at all," Bhambi said.
