Robin Roberts of 'Good Morning America' to undergo bone marrow transplant Thursday

NEW YORK - Robin Roberts of ABC's "Good Morning America" is expected to undergo her bone marrow transplant Thursday.

She sent a video message to thank her viewers for all the love and support. You can watch it on GMA's website.

An outpour of tweets in support of Roberts had the hashtag #TeamRobin trending nationwide on Twitter.

Roberts told viewers in July that she has MDS, a blood and bone marrow disease once known as preleukemia.

Her sister, Sally, was a perfect match and is Roberts' donor.

Her last day as co-anchor on GMA was Aug. 30 before her extended medical leave.

She flew home to be with her ailing mother, 88-year-old Lucimarian Roberts, who later passed away that night.

Roberts said she plans to return to GMA very soon.
