Trader Joe's has issued a recall for some of its own applesauce products due to the potential presence of glass pieces.
A statement from the company says the voluntary recall applies to three unsweetened applesauce lines:
- First Crush Unsweetened Gravenstein applesauce with best before dates of August 8, 2018 or earlier
- Organic Unsweetened applesauce with best before dates of October 6, 2018 or earlier
- All Natural Unsweetened applesauce with best before dates of December 16, 2018 or earlier
All three products were sold at Trader Joe's stores in Arizona, according to a notification on the company's website.
The corresponding products have been removed from store shelves and destroyed, Trader Joe's said.
Those who did purchase one of the affected products are asked to discard it or return it to any store for a full refund.
It is unclear if any injuries have been reported as a result of the potential glass contamination.
