LOS ANGELES - A white Ford Bronco slowly making its way across a Los Angeles freeway glued 95 million viewers to televisions 20 years ago today.
O.J. Simpson was in the backseat, with a gun pointed to his head, and his NFL teammate Al Cowlings was driving. Behind them were authorities. Above them were choppers that captured and sent out a live look.
Simpson was to turn himself in on murder charges, but he never arrived. The Los Angeles Police Department tracked cell phone calls and found him traveling on an interstate, and the pursuit began. Eventually, Simpson arrived at his home in Brentwood, Calif. and was arrested by police.
