Big cities on both ends of the U.S. are now considering bans on sugary drinks.
According to ABC7 in Los Angeles , a councilman has proposed a soda ban on city property, which would affect many residents visiting the local parks and libraries.
The councilman said getting rid of soda machines would promote healthy lifestyles, ABC7 reported.
The soda ban reportedly got a thumbs-up from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, but not so much from the American Beverage Association.
On the other side of the U.S., Mayor Michael Bloomberg is seeking a ban on the sale of large sugary beverages at restaurants in New York City.
Customers would be able to buy another round of drinks, but the businesses couldn't serve 20-ounce cups that are typically found at fast food spots.
Following in New York City's footsteps is also Cambridge, Mass.
The city's mayor proposed the ban Monday.
Is this a trend that we could eventually see in Arizona? Would you support it or be completely against such a ban in your city?
