Kansas City police look after wandering boy, reunite with parents

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Police have reunited a boy found wandering along the street early Tuesday morning with his family .

An off-duty cab driver saw the boy in Kansas City around 1 a.m., and called police. The boy was only wearing a diaper and socks.

The boy's mother told police he was supposed to be staying with his aunt, who lives down the street from where he was found.

The mother said she was getting ready for work when she saw the news report involving her son. She called her sister, who then realized the boy was missing.

The boy slept in the arms of a Kansas City Police officer before his mother and aunt arrived to where police found him around 5:30 a.m.

They told police he has done this before, but never where police were involved.

The DFS did not issue any citations, but they will investigate.
