Some of us may be guilty of spending too much of our lives on Facebook, but not often can you say that Facebook actually saved your life.
A West Virginia man has Facebook and his young daughter's clever thinking to thank after escaping a scary situation that took place at their home.
According to Good Morning America , a father and two other men were sitting on the family's porch during a storm when a tree unexpectedly came down on top of them.
The storm had knocked out cell phone service and the home didn't have a landline, but the man's 10-year-old daughter was able to log onto Facebook.
In a desperate attempt to get help, the girl posted a tearful video in hopes that someone would make the emergency call that would save her father.
“The lightning crashed and hit a tree by our porch and my dad’s almost dead,” she said in her video, GMA reports. “He needs an ambulance please. Please call one for us if you have a signal. We live in a yellow house.”
The little girl was able to get her happy ending when someone who saw her video called for help. The men were treated and are recovering, according to GMA.
