PHOENIX - Foster Farms is recalling more than 6,000 pounds of chicken strips due to labeling that failed to declare the product contained the known allergens wheat and soy, according to a press release.
The following product is subject to the recall:
- 4.5 lb. cases containing 12, 6-oz. trays of "FOSTER FARMS GRILLED CHICKEN BREAST STRIPS BONELESS & SKINLESS WITH RIB MEAT 97% FAT FREE," with an identifying case code of "000606."
The problem was discovered after a customer complained that Foster Farms used the wrong labels on the product. The California-based business reportedly incorrectly labeled the chicken strips with the labels from another product that does not contain wheat or soy, according to a press release.
The company has received no reports of adverse reactions to the wheat or soy in the product. Anyone concerned about an allergic reaction should contact a health professional.
