PHOENIX - If you’re feeling a little worn-out and on the edge, you can blame the place where you reside.
Arizona made the list of the top ten most stressed out states, according to economists at Movoto Blog .
The very top of the list includes Florida, Georgia, New Jersey, California, Nevada, Illinois, New York, Maryland, North Carolina and Arizona.
Unemployment, hours worked, population density, percentage of income spent on housing, percentage of population without health insurance and having a commute of more than 20 minutes were six criteria the most stressed out states had to meet.
Those in New Jersey and California (26 percent) spend most of their income on housing, 70 percent of those in Maryland spend longer than 20 minutes getting to work, and New Jersey had the largest population density of any state.
Arizona is slightly less stressed out than North Carolina where commutes are long, and where there is a high number of people per square mile.
If you’re looking to relocate to some of the least stressed out states, the report lists Nebraska, Minnesota, South Dakota, Iowa and North Dakota at the very bottom of the list.
