Cinco de Mayo party tips: Friends at Emma Magazine show off some Cinco de Mayo party tips

PHOENIX - Cindo de Mayo is literally around the corner. If you're planning on hosting a party or going to one, you're going to want to see these last minute decoration and gift ideas.

Sarah Hubbell from Emma Magazine stopped by ABC15 Morning to give our viewers some cupcake decorating tips, how to make your own festive centerpiece and an easy way to spruce of your wine.

Tissue Paper Pom Poms

Materials:

A stack of tissue paper

String

Scissors

Instructions:

  1. Line up 6-7 pieces of tissue paper in a stack. Ours were about 10"x10" but larger tissue creates a larger flower, so feel free to vary the sizes.
  2. Fold according style in 3/4" folds.
  3. Tie a string around the strip of folded tissue
  4. Fluff out on the sides.

Cupcake Flags

Materials:

Washi Tape

Skewers

Instructions:

  1. Cut strips of washi tape and tape to the top of the skewer
  2. Insert in cupcake. 

Add festive wrappers. We used chevron ones from TomKat Studio .

Pick up Mexican chocolate or margarita cupcakes from Urban Cookies or make your own and top with lime wedges and zest!
