SAN JOSE, CA - Authorities say San Jose City College is "all clear" after police conducted room to room searches after a report Tuesday afternoon of a gunman on campus.
According to the Los Angeles Times , the lockdown reportedly lasted from 5 p.m. till 8 p.m.
San Jose City College police community service officer Pete Luna said college police officers and San Jose police officers were trying to locate a person who was reported to have a gun on campus, but that there have were no reports of any gunfire.
College chancellor Rita Cepeda told television station KTVU that the search was focused on the tech and science centers of the school, but that there was no confirmation of a gunman.
Officials said students and faculty were told to remain on campus, while no others were allowed to enter the campus.
Television live shots showed police massed outside school buildings, while other officers, with their guns drawn, searched the campus.
