A major U.S. commercial airline is pulling its flights from travel website Orbitz.com.
American Airlines announced Tuesday that it will no longer offer fares for flights on the website. It also announced that fares for U.S. Airways would be removed from the site Sept. 1, 2014.
"We have worked tirelessly with Orbitz to reach a deal with the economics that allow us to keep costs low and compete with low-cost carriers," said President Scott Kirby in a prepared statement.
He said airline tickets are still available on other online travel websites, as well as on American Airlines' website.
Tickets already purchased through Orbitz are still validh however, changes to reservations must be made through either American Airlines or U.S. Airways reservations department.
Corporate clients that use Orbitz for Business are not affected by the change.
