AAA Travel: Three amusement park rides Arizonans must try this summer

Summer is here and what better way to celebrate than with a trip to an amusement park!

As the largest leisure travel agency in North America, AAA travel experts are revealing their top picks for new amusement park attractions this summer:

Minion Mayhem at Universal Studios Hollywood
Experience Despicable Me Minion Mayhem and join Gru, his daughters and the mischievous Minions on a heartwarming and hilarious 3-D ride. Start your adventure in Gru’s home, where you’re recruited for his latest scheme – one where you’ll become an actual Minion. After making it through “Minion training” things don’t go as planned! Within moments, you’re launched into an unforgettable trip through his super-villain laboratory.

Then, visit a re-creation of the first film’s memorable seaside carnival, Super Silly Fun Land, an all-new, interactive Minion-inspired outdoor venue that is a literal interpretation of the seaside carnival from Despicable Me. The venue is designed to entertain guests of all ages with more than 80 different water-play features as well as a dry zone. A highlight of Super Silly Fun Land is the memorable “Super Silly Space Killer” arcade game, where Agnes “won” her lovable stuffed unicorn. Guests have a chance to try and beat the odds as they vie to win Minion game prizes and their own stuffed unicorn.

UNIVERSAL STUDIOS HOLLYWOOD TICKETS: A 1-day pass to Universal Studios Hollywood is $87 for adults (ages 10+) and $79 for children (ages 3-9). AAA members can save by buying tickets in advance online, where a 1-day pass is $81 for adults (ages 10+) and $73 for children (ages 3-9).

LEGOLAND Water Park is also open for the summer, featuring more than 20 LEGO models including giant LEGO friends who splash or spray water on guests and two sandy beach wading areas. The LEGO® Legends of CHIMA Water Park is a new addition to the water park this summer, with added features including: The Lion Temple Wave Pool, Cragger’s Swamp, Eglor’s Build-a-Boat, Wolves’ Cantina and more.

Within Universal’s Islands of Adventure® theme park you can visit the iconic Hogwarts™ castle and explore Hogsmeade™ village.

Later this summer, follow in Harry Potter’s footsteps at Universal Studios Florida® as you walk through the streets of London to Diagon Alley™, where you’ll find many of the wizarding world’s most famous establishments.
