Tempe police search for bank robbery suspect

Tempe police are looking for a robbery suspect who held up a bank on Wednesday.

Investigators say at 12 p.m., the man approached a teller inside the Arizona Federal Credit Union near Hardy Drive and Baseline Road.

The suspect advised the teller it was a robbery.

The teller turned over an undisclosed amount of cash to the suspect who then fled southbound through the parking lot.

A perimeter and K-9 search met with negative results.

The suspect is described as a black male, 6 feet tall, with a medium build and shaved head.

He was last seen wearing blue jeans, an orange long sleeve shirt, and a baseball cap.

The investigation is continuing by both Tempe's Criminal Investigation Bureau and the FBI.
