A Texas woman says she caught a chupacabra in her attic.
But an animal control officer says the animal was something a little less legendary.
According to the legend, a chupacabra is a blood sucking goat-killer first spotted in Puerto Rico.
It's not a dog.
In fact, people say it looks more like a reptile with a leathery or scaly greenish-gray skin and sharp spines or quills running down its back.
It has large fangs and those who claim to have seen the animal say the animal hisses.
As far as this animal goes, animal control says it's actually a racoon with mange.
Chupacabra sightings happen mostly in Mexico and parts of the Southwestern United States.
But there have been sightings as far north as Maine.
