Mike Ferris and Sal Munoz said they installed surveillance cameras around their Phoenix home last year near 15th Avenue and Indian School Road.
They told ABC15 they had been having problems with people stealing their mail, and also that someone ran into their parked car and didn't leave a note.
Last Wednesday, the cameras picked up another crime in progress.
A group of men, some armed with shotguns or disguised with bandannas, broke into the home.
The outdoor cameras also picked up sound of the violent scuffle inside the house.
The group of four or five men attacked Ferris and Munoz.
Munoz told ABC15 someone knocked him unconscious, and he believes he suffered a mild concussion.
He also has a black eye and several scrapes and bruises.
Ferris told ABC15 someone violently struck him with a gun several times.
He said one attacker punched him in the head and picked him up off the ground.
He struggled to make his way out of the house and eventually escaped out the back while his partner, Munoz, was inside with the attackers.
Finally, the attackers fled and the two men called police.
The Phoenix Police Special Assignment Unit arrived on the scene, but did not make any arrests.
Meanwhile, Ferris and Munoz said the robbers stole laptops, cameras, a plasma TV, a wallet filled with credit cards and a driver's license, and keys to a BMW.
Ferris said his cell phone records show someone started using his stolen cell phone within a half hour of the theft.
The men are hoping someone will recognize the violent attackers in the video.
