Nine puppies were rescued after being stuck under a classroom at a Phoenix school Tuesday.

The puppies were discovered at Andalucia Middle School, near 47th and Campbell avenues.

The mother of the puppies gave birth to them under a portable classroom.

Paw Placement, a non-profit rescue group, helped save the puppies and their mother.

Workers cut a hole in the floor of the portable classroom to rescue the puppies that were thought to be about 4-weeks-old.
