Professional skier and rally driver Guerlain Chicherit's effort to break the Guinness World Record for longest ramp car jump didn't end the way he had hoped, and the horrific crash that followed was all caught on video, courtesy of GoPro.
In March, Chicherit was attempting to break the current jump record of 332 feet with a 360-foot jump in a modified MINI Countryman rally car in Tignes, France.
However, he lost control of the MINI just before landing, as evidenced by his face at the 8-minute mark of the video posted Thursday to YouTube by GoPro, and the subsequent crash is nothing short of devastating.
"When I woke up the morning of jump day, I called my wife and told her that I had a bad feeling," said Chicherit.
In the comments, GoPro described the video as "a record of a man confronting his own mortality, and ultimately experiencing a moment of what we can only describe as grace."
