VIDEO: University of Miami's Hurricane mascot stands in for bride's dad

CORAL GABLES, FLORIDA - While Jennifer Sullivan was planning her wedding there was something missing, her dad to walk her down the aisle.

Her dad, Walter, passed away two years ago and she dreaded walking down the aisle ever since then.

"She thought about her mom or a good friend or an uncle but she thought nobody was going to take the place of her dad and it'd be a sad moment for everyone," Sullivan's fiance Patrick Sullivan, 29, told ABC News.

Sullivan figured out a solution though - she was going to bring in somebody from her past to make her wedding day special.

The Bride is a big fan of the University of Miami Hurricanes and asked Sebastian, the school's mascot, to walk her down the aisle.

The school agreed and said it was kept a surprise until the big day. The school even created a uniform tribute to the bride's father -- "Big Walt" was written on the jersey's back.

"It's fitting with her personality in the sense that she's a huge college football fan and is a diehard Miami Hurricanes fan," Patrick said. "The people who really know her were like, 'Yup, that makes sense.'"

The video only went viral recently when it was posted to the University of Miami's Facebook page on July 17 but their wedding was in March.
