VIDEO: Police officer reunites with his canine partner Bruno after dog gets shot

A police dog shot while on duty in Anaheim was reunited with his police officer partner after a full recovery, according to a news report by Good Morning America.

The seven-year-old dog, Bruno, suffered life-threatening injuries after he was shot after he found a suspect last week, but still came back to his partner while he was bleeding, GMA reports . None of the officers on the scene were shot.

“My entire world came crumbling down in the matter of a second,” Bruno’s partner R.J. Young told GMA.

When Bruno was shot, the bullet went out through his lower jaw and saw back into his chest cavity, nearly piercing his heart. Part of his lung was lost as well, GMA says.

Young plans to pay all of Bruno’s medical bills and adopt him. More information on Bruno and how you can donate to help him can be found here .
