Super Bowl XLIX halftime show: Drunk guy creates Weird Al halftime show online petition

PHOENIX - Have you ever gotten drunk, posted a petition online and then watched it go viral?

We don't think many have, but one Washington man is finding out for himself first hand.

Ed Ball posted a petition to while he was admittedly drunk to have Weird Al Yankovic headline Super Bowl XLIX, which will be held at the University of Phoenix Stadium next year.

In his posting, Ball claims he was at a bar listening to two Seahawk fans predict that their team will make it to the Super Bowl again when the conversation switched to who should perform during the halftime show.

Justin Bieber? Miley Cyrus? Magic?

"Think about the Super Bowls of past years, when you had no vested interest in either team, especially during a game that was a blowout or boring. What did you remember the most? I’m betting it was typically the humorous commercials, or some kick a** halftime performance. Why not combine the two?" he writes. "Sure, many consider Weird Al a bit, a gimmick comedic artist. But you cannot deny that he has crafted his art and been successful over the past 4 decades, gaining the respect and approval of every artist he parodies."

As of this writing, the petition has been signed by over 35,000 supporters.

Who would you like to see perform during halftime at Super Bowl XLIX?

Weird Al released his 14th album, "Mandatory Fun." It also includes parodies of songs from Robin Thicke, Lorde, Iggy Azalea and Imagine Dragons.

Over the years, Weird Al's best-known parodies include "Eat It," his take on Michael Jackson's "Beat It" and "Amish Paradise," a send-off on Coolio's "Gangsta's Paradise."
